the new solly baby soft carrier
We all know and love the Solly wraps, right? Soft stretchy material, closeness with our sweet newborns, and the ability to be a bit more hands free while we’re nap trapped makes it seem like we can’t get any better, right? What if I told you it did?
meet the solly soft carrier
This is the new Solly Soft carrier— a buckle carrier that takes you beyond those months in the wrap! It’s soft, easy to use, lightweight, and convenient. We have been using for a bit now with our almost 2 year old and it’s been so nice to try out with an “older baby/toddler” to truly test how it can grow with your family. Plus, I’ve got a great discount code for you at the bottom!
the wrap vs the soft carrier
When it comes to the difference between the Solly wrap and Solly soft carrier, the difference is subtle, but huge. The soft, close knit feel of the Solly stretchy wrap was reimagined into a buckle carrier that can truly grow with your baby. The ease and simplicity of this carrier makes it a mom must-have for me.
I love the Solly stretchy wrap for the newborn stage and their new Solly soft carrier for all the stages after that! The stretchy wrap can take a bit of a learning curve to get used to putting on, whereas the soft carrier is pretty self explanatory & takes maybe one or two times to feel comfortable with! It is also a more structured carrier, so has the ability to carry babies up to 45lbs (yay!) and works for front carry or back carry, whereas the Solly Wrap can hold up to 25 lbs and only parent face! This carrier does give more flexibility and options to continue with after the Solly Wrap. I also love the foldover panel for extra head support with young babies & love that it’s patterned!
what’s the difference
The Solly soft carrier has a lighter feel compared to other similar buckle carriers and a softer, more “mold-to-your-body” design. Another thing to note if the padded straps on other carriers seem a bit too bulky, this carrier does not have extra padding throughout. This makes it lighter and less cumbersome for many moms.

how i use it
I’ve used this carrier with my 22 month old for errands out, grocery store naps, soccer games when I forgot the stroller or wagon, etc. My girl loves to nap in the carrier, so as an on the go family, a lot of her naps are in it! It has been a quick and easy option for on the go with babies and toddlers; plus, with the little bag, it’s perfect to keep in my car trunk organizer! I love a good buckle carrier and the ease and lightweight feel of this one (while still being plenty supportive) makes all the difference in carrying around a “bigger baby/toddler” for her naps while chasing around my 4 other rascals. I love that this carrier can hold up to 45lbs— you can wear your older babies and toddlers AND it lasts longer for larger babies too. I actually just wore her as she fell asleep at my daughter’s soccer tournament too and I was SO grateful to save my arms! I’ve also run it through the washing machine a few times (yogurt pouches always seem to make their way into her hands) and it’s convenient and washes well! You know I am all about things being able to be washed easily (dishwasher, washing machine) as a mom of 5, so this was a big win for me!
things to consider
This carrier can be worn starting around 3+ months of age. If wearing your 3 month old, it’s important to ensure we are following TICKS and that the main panel of the carrier (not foldover flap) is sitting below your baby’s ear when in the carrier. It’s also important to spread the panel wide enough (based on baby’s size) at the waistband to ensure they’re in an “M” (bum below knees) position in the carrier for hip health.
